In Florida growing up we always knew the thunderstorms came around 4pm every afternoon during the summer. It was odd but at least predictable. In Red Lodge, the weather is anything but predictable. Around here they say "If you don't like the weather just wait an hour and it will change." It's so true...sometimes it changes in 20 minutes, sometimes 5. I say that being a weather person in Red Lodge would be great....you get paid no matter if you're 100% right or 100% wrong.
They say the weather's unpredictability is due to the town's location at the base of the Beartooth Mountains. Something about the winds coming over the mountain....I'm sure that's true. All I know is I've seen some crazy weather out here!
